Story telling – The Little Red Riding Hood (Barnuża Ħamra)

“Grandmother, what big ears you have!”

“All the better to hear with, my child.”

“Grandmother, what big eyes you have!”

“All the better to see with, my child.”

“Grandmother, what big teeth you have got!”

“All the better to eat you up with.”

I try to link storytelling sessions to the current topic and therefore I used the story of Little Red Riding Hood to introduce the topic “The face” in Maltese.  I animated the story by using pictures on the Interactive Whiteboard and dramatised it with changing voices.  I also used puppets to compliment the story and the children really enjoyed it.  Afterwards, the children engaged in a writing activity in the form of a word-search linked to the same topic.
